Our Sustainability Journey

Sports should push boundaries—not the planet. Here’s how we’re making sure sustainability stays at the core of everything we do.

Doing What We Can, Until We Can Do More

At RSG, we don’t just work with anyone. Every vendor has to meet strict sustainability guidelines before earning their spot on our platform.

Sustainability isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s a spectrum. Some vendors are pioneers, leading the charge with carbon-neutral operations and closed-loop production. Others are just getting started on their green journey. Wherever they are on the spectrum, we make it our mission to know our vendors, their practices, and where they’re heading next. This isn’t just about products, but also progress—and trust us, Karen’s keeping score.

If you’re selling fast fashion or using more plastic than sense, keep moving. But if your products are ethical, low-impact, and planet-friendly, welcome aboard.

What We Look For in Vendors

Environmentally Friendly Materials
Our vendors must use materials that won’t send Karen into a rage, such as toxic chemicals. Think recycled polyester (rPET), organic cotton, hemp, upcycled excess materials. Bonus points for certifications like GRS, GOTS or OEKO-TEX that prove they’re walking the talk.

Packaging and Waste Reduction
We’re declaring war on single-use plastics. Vendors are encouraged (because we cannot legally force them yet) to use eco-friendly packaging, such as compostable materials or recycled alternatives.

Animal Welfare
Our vendors adhere to ethical standards, with certifications like PETA or equivalent cruelty-free credentials. Karen doesn’t mess around, especially with animals.

Transparency in Supply Chains
If you don’t know where it comes from, neither will we. Transparency is non-negotiable. Vendors must prove their products are ethically sourced, sustainably made, and produced under fair labor conditions. We prioritize brands with certifications like Fair Trade or FSC, ensuring every product has a story worth telling.

Are you the planet's next hope?

We’re on the hunt for game-changers who care about ethics, sustainability, and doing things right. If that’s you, step up.

What We're Doing and What's Next

Tree Planting and Ocean Cleaning
We’re growing forests—literally. Every month, we donate trees and clean plastic bottles from the ocean, and with every order, you plant one tree and rescue five plastic bottles yourself (at our expense). It’s a small step, but it’s one we’re proud of (and Karen begrudgingly approves).

Encourage Community Involvement
Sustainability is a team effort. That’s why we create challenges, share actionable tips, and build an online/offline community of like-minded folks who want to make that difference we all talk about. Also, we spotlight vendors that make bold moves. Karen calls it 'crowdsourcing better behavior'.

Growing Vendor Lineup
We’re scouting for even more brands that push sustainability to the next level. Think ethical practices, cutting-edge materials, and zero-tolerance for waste. Basically, we’re assembling the Avengers of sustainability.

Carbon Neutral Goals
Shipping isn’t perfect, but we’re working on it. From exploring carbon-neutral options to better packaging, we’re figuring out how to get your gear to you without making the planet cringe.

Circular Economy in Action
Why buy, toss, and repeat? We push our vendors to use recycled and upcycled materials wherever possible, and we’re cooking up ideas for take-back programs, second-hand options, and repair initiatives. Because nothing says ‘eco-hero’ like keeping your gear out of the trash.

The Bigger Picture

We know the world of sustainable sports is still in its early days. But instead of waiting for perfection, we’re taking action—partnering with vendors who care and growing alongside them. As we expand, so will our initiatives, our partnerships, and our impact. Rest assured, Climate Karen’s keeping an eye on us to make sure we never settle for ‘good enough.’

The Bottom Line

Saving the planet isn’t just a tagline. It’s a commitment. Every product you buy from RSG supports vendors who are actively working toward a greener, fairer world. We could talk about perfection, but we prefer doing what you can, when you can. And together, we can make sustainability second nature.
